Happy Last Week of September, All!
Didn't September go by so fast? And to think that we are already
halfway through the first quarter of school? Wow!
There is not too much to share but there are some quick reminders that I wanted to share with you for this upcoming week.
MAPS
Testing: MAPS testing will take place on Wednesday-Thursday THIS
WEEK! We strongly encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep and to
have a good breakfast the morning of the test. Also, please discuss
the importance of trying hard on these tests with your child. Due to
MAPS testing, we are asking your child to bring his/her laptop charger to
school on WEDNESDAY. We are also asking that the chargers come to school
on Thursday and Friday. Your child still needs to charge the laptop at
night so it is fully charged in the morning, but we would like the chargers at
school during our testing days. Please have your child plan accordingly
for these changes.
Book Orders: Book orders are due on Tuesday, September 27th. Please have your child turn those book orders in by Tuesday.
Max Garcia: On Tuesday, September 27th, Max Garcia, a Holocaust survivor, will be coming and speaking with our 6th graders. He will also present to the community that evening. We will be discussing some of the histories of the Holocaust tomorrow in class, so your child may be giving you some information he/she has learned about Holocaust. In the spring, we will complete a unit on the Holocaust, so your child will learn much more about it during that time.
Have a great week! It feels like Fall!
Mrs. McCarville
