Final Week

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have made it!  It is the final week of the 2015-2016 school year, and it is going to super busy.  Your child will need a few things to bring in for this week’s activities.

I-Pads and Cords: The sixth graders will be checking in their I-pads and cords on Tuesday.  Students need to bring their chargers on either Monday or Tuesday, so their I-pads and cords can be checked in on Tuesday.  Please see that your child has both the I-pad and charger ready for Tuesday.

Park Day: On Monday, all of the sixth graders will be enjoying the afternoon at the park.  Students can bring equipment to play with at the park, such as baseballs, bats, gloves, Frisbees, soccer/kick balls, beanbags, etc.  We are also encouraging students to bring bottles of water and to bring/wear sunscreen for the afternoon.

Bag Tournament: On Tuesday, the sixth graders will be playing in a double-elimination beanbag tournament.  We currently have enough boards and beanbags to play 10 games at once.  Being we have 39 teams playing in the tournament, we are asking if there are any parents that have boards/beanbags that you would be willing to let us borrow and use for the tournament.  Students can bring the boards/bags to their homeroom classroom on either Monday or Tuesday.  Thanks in advance if you are willing to donate!

Board Games:  On Wednesday, we will wrap up our school year with some good ‘ole board games.  If your child could bring any board games that he/she would be willing to share, we would greatly appreciate it.  Students can label their own games and we will spread them out to play on Wednesday.  Games will be returned home on the last day, but we would prefer that the games be brought in as soon as possible.  Thanks!

Trail Walk:  On Wednesday, we plan on walking the bike trail.  Students should wear comfortable tennis shoes that day.  Please see that your child has a bottle of water and sunscreen (if necessary).

We are hoping to avoid some of the rain that is forecasted this week.  If there is inclement weather, the schedule is subject to change.  Cross your fingers that we can miss the rain!  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Reading Packet: If interested, there is an incoming 7th grade summer reading packet that can be available for your child.  If you would like to have access to the summer reading packet, please contact me.

Lastly, this being that this will be the last blog of the school year, I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to work with you and your child.  I appreciate all that you have done to make your child's year a success.  Have a wonderful summer!

Mrs. McCarville
